The PENN Wrath II Surfcast Combo is a heavy-duty, long-range setup built specifically for surfcasting and beach fishing. It pairs a powerful multi-section rod with a large, high-capacity spinning reel, giving anglers an affordable package designed to cast heavy baits beyond the breaking waves and cope with strong currents. It suits anglers targeting larger species from the shore who need maximum casting distance and line capacity. The rod is built around a strong and responsive 3-piece graphite composite blank, providing the leverage needed to cast heavy weights up to 250 g (8.8 oz) over long distances. Despite that power, the tip is sensitive enough to register subtle bites from feeding fish, which matters in distance fishing. An anti-slip casting grip on the butt section gives a secure, powerful hold for maximising casting distance and accuracy. The guide system uses stainless steel guides with titanium oxide inserts in a hybrid ringing pattern, optimised for large fixed spool (spinning) reels while staying robust enough to handle heavy payloads in the surf.
