The Wychwood Drift XL is an extendable fly rod range built for the modern river angler who wants a little extra edge on the water. Each rod features a unique extendable butt section that gives up to 8 inches of extension when needed, instantly transforming the rod to suit the situation in front of you. The twist and lock feature means the rod can be fished at its shortest length for presenting dry flies at range, and at its longest length for close quarters nymph fishing. Produced using super-fine grades of carbon, these lightweight and slim line fly rods have an action that suits all styles of river fishing. The Drift XL lets you hook and hold fish at short and medium range with very thin tippets, small dry flies or nymphs, without fear of the hook pulling out. You can also take your time and let the rod take the strain when playing big fish in fast water, as the softer action cushions every lunge effectively. These tactical fly rods have an understated matt black finish with black lacquered whippings and olive highlights. The P cork handle has a camo look to keep it discreet rather than bold and bright like usual cork, which helps in challenging fishing situations. A unique 20cm marker is whipped onto the blank above the handle, useful because in most competitions only fish of 20cm or more are counted.
