Description

The Shimano Expride is a lure rod range that sits directly beneath the Poison Adrena in Shimano's line-up, sharing much of that rod's technology. Originally developed as a bass rod, it is built for anglers who want a sensitive, responsive lure rod and expect a high standard of finish and performance. The range covers light, medium and large lures, and each model is available to suit either spinning or baitcasting reels. Every model also comes in two configurations: a 1+1 option (one piece with a detachable handle) and a 2-piece option with equal length sections. The sensitivity of the Expride comes from two Shimano technologies. The High Modulus Full Carbon blanks are built using Hi-Power X technology, which reduces blank twist when casting and playing fish for a more responsive feel. A Carbon Monocoque handle transfers more information from the blank to your hand, giving a clearer picture of what is happening to your lure underwater. Fuji SiC guides and a lightweight Shimano Ci4+ reel seat, suited to either spinning or baitcasting reels, further increase sensitivity and overall rod performance. The blank has a classic gloss black finish with a cork front grip. The 1+1 models use a one piece main section that curves with a seamless fast action, offering directness and forgiveness in equal measure. The traditional 2-piece options, available across all models, provide a more convenient transport solution and when assembled are almost indistinguishable from the 1+1 action.
