The Wychwood Tactical Compact Bivvy is a shelter aimed at the mobile and short-session carp angler who wants the protection of a full bivvy without the bulk. It is one of the lightest full bivvies on the market, which makes it a practical option for anyone who moves their gear regularly or fishes at distance from a barrow. The bivvy uses a simple 2-rib "pram-hood" design, a classic structure that is quick to put up and stable once erected. It is supported by lightweight but strong 16mm poles, a major factor in keeping the overall weight down. The fabric is a hard-wearing 10,000mm hydrostatic head ripstop material, exceptionally waterproof and durable for prolonged heavy rain, with fully taped seams for added protection. Despite the compact pack size, the internal space is generous enough to accommodate a bed chair and essential tackle, with the erected dimensions giving a single angler a good amount of headroom and floor space. Ventilation comes from a large rear mozzy mesh vent, which helps reduce condensation and keeps the shelter cooler in warm weather, while the front has a full, zip-in waterproof door so the bivvy can be sealed off completely.
