The Sakura Mitsio Jigging 100 is the most powerful rod in the Mitsio range, built for extreme jigging where heavy tackle and deep water are the norm. At 5'3" (1.60m) it is the shortest and most powerful rod in the series, designed to give the angler maximum leverage against powerful fish. It is aimed at targeting 100kg+ bluefin tuna, giant dogtooth tuna and large groupers in deep water. The blank combines Mitsubishi Japan IM30T carbon with a fiberglass composite tip. The Fuji SiC guides use silicon carbide inserts that are virtually friction-free and dissipate heat quickly, protecting PE #8 or #10 braid from thermal stress during long runs. Because the rod is built as a single piece with no joints, there is no flat spot in the bend and energy transfer runs from tip to gimbal, allowing extreme drag settings of up to 15kg-20kg to be used with confidence. This rod suits dogtooth tuna, giant amberjack and bluefin tuna, and is intended for extreme marks in the Indian Ocean, the Pacific and the North Atlantic. It is suited to deep water heavy jigging with Orion jigs from 250g up to 500g, with a stiff mid-section that allows heavy jigs to be worked off the bottom at depths of 150m or more. It is also a choice for wreck fishing over jagged structure for large conger or goliath grouper, where 100lb of power is needed to stop a fish's first run before it reaches the wreck. Designed for use with a fighting belt, the Fuji GRC butt locks into a gimbal for stability when winching fish to the surface. A suitable match is a 20000 or 30000 size high-performance spinning reel loaded with nothing less than PE 8 or 10 braid.
