The Preston Distance Master Feeder Rod range is built to balance casting performance with fish-playing action. Developed with input from Lee Kerry, Mick Vials and Arnout Van De Stadt, the rods are aimed at anglers who need to reach distant features and still land what they hook. Each rod in the range uses an elongated butt, letting you compress the blank fully to generate maximum distance. An enlarged area at the base of the butt gives you more purchase when driving the rod through the cast. The flat butt design helps lock the rod in place when playing hard-fighting fish, while oversized guides allow smooth passage of mono or braid and reduce wrap-overs. Every rod comes with three carbon tips in 2oz, 3oz and 4oz, offering bite detection when fishing at distance. All models are a three-piece design with a cork and EVA butt for comfort. The range covers distance casting across a variety of situations, from large natural still waters for bream to Method feeder fishing for carp. The first model in the range is an all-rounder suited to most distance fishing, whether launching Method feeders or punching out cage feeders. It casts up to 80m and balances casting and fish-playing action: the softer tip helps prevent hook pulls at the netting stage, while the powerful butt section makes the required distance easier to achieve. Like the rest of the range, the 12'6" Distance Master has a flat elongated handle to aid casting and playing fish, oversized low-friction distance casting guides, a keeper ring and three carbon tips. The 4.0m 100g model is the all-rounder of the Distance Master family, capable of casting 100m. It suits long-range bream fishing on large natural venues as well as carp fishing with large Method feeders on big open lakes. Its powerful yet forgiving action is designed to combine fish-playing and casting performance. The largest model is the specialist of the range, capable of casting well in excess of 100m. It suits big open water carp fishing where extra yards in the depths of winter can mean extra bites, and is also a strong choice in rough conditions or when you need to hit distance on big natural waters for bream. The action is powerful but progressive, helping you land everything you hook.
