The PENN Carnage Halibuster rod is built for saltwater anglers targeting halibut in Northern European waters. Halibut often mouth a bait with only small taps before taking it properly, so these rods use an extra sensitive tip that lets you feel every bite while still giving the fish room to inhale the bait. That sensitive tip sits on a powerful backbone, which provides the hooksetting power and leverage needed to fight large fish. The blanks are made from high quality carbon with Powerlux 1000 resin, producing thin, very light blanks with high strength. An X-wrap construction adds further strength and helps prevent rod twist.
