The Drennan Acolyte Pro Margin Carp Pole is a 9.5m margin pole built for big, hard-fighting commercial carp. It is stiff, lightweight and exceptionally strong, and it shares its mandrel with the Acolyte Pro Carp pole — though it is built even stronger. That shared design means the top kits (not individual sections 1 and 2) and sections three to seven can potentially interchange between the two poles, which is useful if you want an even stronger pole for heavy-duty margin fishing or a spare or back-up pole. As with the other Acolyte poles, the male and female joints are reinforced to help reduce wear and prolong pole life. This seven-section pole, complete with reversible mini extension, measures 9.5m straight from the bag and needs no cutting back to accept the largest 5.4m internal PTFE bushes, which are supplied. It suits thick, hollow elastic such as pink 14-16, red 18-20 and Orange 20+ Carp Bungee. The supplied Margin Kits measure 2.33m and are deliberately shorter than the 2.89m kits supplied with the other Acolyte poles, as this is considered the optimum length for more demanding, close-range work. A shorter length of elastic gives much more control over a big fish, which matters when tackling snaggy swims. These Margin kits are the same length as the Double Two carp kits from the Acolyte pole range when the lower D2 part is removed, adding further versatility. In the standard package, one of the Margin Kits comes with the special Ghost Tip, which has a light grey paint finish designed for ultra-wary fish that could be spooked by a dark carbon pole tip passing over them, especially in very shallow margins. The standard package includes three kits in total (one in the pole and two spare), and as with all Drennan poles you can tailor the kit and section mix to your own requirements through your Drennan stockist. Each kit comes with factory-fitted Side Pull Slots as standard and is supplied with Roller Cones for smooth elastic performance. The Easy Fit pure PTFE bushes have a series of tiny crush ribs at the end, so they push-fit securely without glue.
