The Century Close Quarter Pod is a compact carbon pod designed primarily for anglers using shorter rods, such as 6ft, 9ft and 10ft models, which are becoming increasingly popular in modern carp fishing. Lightweight and quick to set up, it suits the mobile angler or the opportunist who wants to sneak in a few hours at a local canal or pond on the way home from work. The pod has the distinct Century Stealth appearance with subtle Century branding, and is manufactured in the UK using 16mm diameter high-spec carbon tube and black anodised aluminium fittings. It can be used with either the long upright or the short upright at the front, depending on how you want your tips positioned on the day. Buzz bars are deliberately not supplied, as anglers have their own personal preferences on sizes depending on how they like to fish and the rods and reels they use. Choosing your own sizes and configurations means you get exactly what you want. Century manufacture several different width fixed double and adjustable doubles that complement this design, and the narrow treble bars can also be used if required. The pod is supplied in a padded protective carry case, which comprises a sleeve for the centre bar and a separate main bag that houses the rest of the components. The main bag has room for a set of buzz bars leaving alarms and butt rests fitted, a couple of extra legs if required, and a pocket for indicators.
