Description

The Daiwa Windstopper Soft Shell is a technical fleece designed and manufactured by Halkon Hunt in the UK, built to work as either an outer layer or a mid-layer across a wide range of fishing conditions. It uses WINDSTOPPER by GORE-TEX LABS technology to balance warmth, weather resistance and freedom of movement, making it suited to open bank and boat fishing where wind chill can quickly pull body temperature down. The jacket combines a mix of fleece-backed WINDSTOPPER materials that are fully windproof while remaining highly breathable, blocking the wind chill effect without trapping moisture during active sessions. Thermal mapping places a deep pile, warmer fleece through the back, shoulders and hood for heat retention in the core and vital areas, while a lighter fleece-backed material is used at the sides and underarms so casting and handling gear stay unrestricted. The outer fabric carries a durable water-repellent finish for drizzle resistance, protecting against light showers and spray when netting or landing fish and keeping the internal fleece dry. Rip-stop water-resistant fabric reinforces the forearm, an area constantly exposed to wear from fishing line, resting rods and wet nets. Storage comes from zippered side pockets and a zippered breast pocket, all fitted with YKK zips to help keep phones, keys and small tackle items protected.
