The Shimano Aldebaran BFS is the brand's most advanced ultra finesse baitcasting reel. Built for the very lightest lure fishing, this lightweight reel can work with lures as light as 1g. It suits lightweight lure specialists who fish finesse presentations, or target smaller species such as trout and perch. Anglers who have previously only used spinning reels for ultra finesse fishing will also notice the benefits of this model. A quick flick of the rod tip launches the lightest lures into almost friction-free flight. If conditions change or you switch to a different lure weight, a quick adjustment of the braking dial gives you the right brake setting. The lightweight casting performance of the Aldebaran BFS comes from the FTB (Finesse Tune Braking) system, a combination of magnetic and centrifugal braking that works with the ultra-light MGL III spool to control braking. S3D spool design and SilentTune technology further enhance performance. The system is adjusted by an external dial, and at its lowest setting brake friction is almost imperceptible. Internally, Micromodule Gear and X-SHIP deliver smooth, powerful and efficient winding power, while the HAGANE Body, made from magnesium and CI4+ materials, helps reduce overall weight. Anglers who prefer a fast retrieve can choose between the 7.8:1 (HGL) and 8.9:1 (XGL) models, both fitted with Shimano's Exciting Drag Sound to enhance fish playing.
