Gardner Covert Tungsten Chod Beads
Description
Gardner Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are fast-sinking beads designed for use as a weighted helicopter or chod rig stop bead, setting the movement of the hooklink on the main line or leader. They are supplied on wire sprigs, which makes threading them onto your line or leader straightforward. The beads have a soft, rubbery texture that offers just the right amount of grip to hold in position on the line or leader, so there is no need to use a section of 0.5mm silicone as a stop. The Chod Bead can simply be slid to the position you want, allowing you to compensate for the nature of the lake bed or any weed present. The tapered profile of the bore ensures the bead passes cleanly over any leader knots, so heli-rigs constructed with this bead allow the hooklink to pull off and separate from the terminal tackle in the event of a cut-off. They can improve consistent presentation in several ways. Used as stop beads above a Chod Rig, they let you balance the end tackle so the rig settles gently over the spot, and using a couple set a short distance apart instead of the traditional running chod can create improved hooking potential. The High Bore version can also be threaded onto the Chod hook section itself and pushed down over the swivel or Kwik Lok as a replacement for tungsten putty, which is particularly useful if the water you are fishing contains Crays. Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are manufactured with the densest tungsten polymer compound available. Tungsten Chod Beads are available in 2 different bores: - Low Bore – 0.20mm internal bore, designed for use on monofilament. - High Bore – 0.50mm internal bore, for use with skinned hooklinks, leadcore leaders and leadfree. - Each Chod Bead is 7mm x 4mm. - 12 beads per packet (mounted on wire sprigs).
