Belachan is the Asian name for a specific type of fermented shrimp paste — a salty, strongly smelling block used to create deep flavours in Malaysian cooking, and one that carp are practically addicted to. For years, accomplished anglers have used Belachan to devastating effect while keeping quiet about one of the main reasons behind their success. CC Moore Belachan Block comes in a solid block form that can be crumbled into almost any bait item. It is an exceptional attractor when used with pellets or particles, or in boilie, method, spod or stick mixes. To use it, grate the block with a fine cheese grater and include it at up to 75g/kg of dry mix in any of the bait forms above. In boilie mixes, best results are achieved by adding the grated Belachan to the liquid egg and leaving it for 10-15 minutes before mixing and rolling. Tip: for a devastating combination, try mixing 60% Intense Hemp, 30% Frozen Bloodworm and 10% grated Belachan as a carpet feed.
