Description

The Evolve Tackle In-Line Run Ring System Kit is a setup in which a standard in-line weight or lead is transformed to free running once a fish is hooked. Arranged like a traditional in-line setup, the weight sets the hook and then adapts to become free running, so the fish cannot use the weight to eject the hook, the angler does not need to drop the weight, and the large bore of the ring keeps the rig extremely safe. Designed to work with Evolve In-Line Weights, it will also work with many other in-line lead products. The insert has two swivel fittings, marked "+" and "-", which have different release forces, so the setup can be tuned to suit the size of weight or lead being used, the leader being used, and the angling situation — in other words, how much force is needed to pull the swivel out of the insert, and therefore how quickly the system converts to free running. The "-" fitting is typically for weights and leads up to 3oz, and the "+" typically for weights and leads over 3oz, though it can be set up differently for a specifically tuned operation. The insert can be cut to length to suit any weight or lead, with a maximum of 5mm of stem protruding from the top of the weight or lead. A cutting guide on the cap, which the insert screws into, assists with cutting to length. Weights and leads can be quickly unscrewed from the setup for a rapid change of size, or for safe transportation and storage without them attached. The rubber plug holds the setup under light tension to prevent leader or line movement and tangles, and becomes a shock-absorbing bead once free running. Tubing can be inserted into the rear of the plug, securing it in position and allowing the system to work as well with mainlines as it does with leaders.
