Keitech Easy Shiner

Description

The Keitech Easy Shiner 5" is an all-round swimbait engineered in Japan to balance a large-profile meal with a finesse-style, high-frequency action. It has become a staple for targeting specimen pike, zander and big perch, particularly when predator activity levels are moderate to high. Unlike stiffer, bulkier swimbaits, the Easy Shiner 5" features an incredibly soft body that allows it to shimmy and sway with lifelike realism. - Model: Keitech Easy Shiner 5" - Length: 5.0 inches (Approx. 12.7 cm) - Weight: Approx. 7.5 grams (Approx. 0.26 oz) - Lure Type: Medium-large profile soft swimbait - Material: Custom ultra-soft, salted PVC plastics matrix - Scent Infusion: Heavily loaded with Keitech's potent Natural Squid Scent - Packaging: Secure, rigid plastic blister tray packs (ensures the tail remains perfectly aligned for true-tracking action) - Quantity: 5 baits per pack - Rigging Channels: Integrated centerline hook guide on the back and belly for optimal alignment - Signature "Easy" Swimming Action: The tail is specifically weighted and shaped to kick with a wide, rhythmic thump at even the slowest retrieve speeds. This allows you to work the lure across a variety of cadences, from a slow crawl along the bottom to a fast burn through the mid-water column. - High-Volume Body Profile: The 5" body is slender enough to be inhaled easily by zander and perch, but wide enough to displace significant water, making it a target bait that draws predators in from a distance. - Salt-Weighted Stability: The belly is heavily impregnated with dense salt. This gives the lure a lower center of gravity, which prevents it from rolling during a high-speed retrieve and ensures it always tracks perfectly level, looking like a distressed baitfish rather than a spinning piece of rubber. - Hydrodynamic Ribbing: The body is covered in micro-ribs that trap and release tiny air bubbles for a realistic bubbly trail, and increase the surface area for the squid scent to disperse, ensuring a constant olfactory beacon as the bait moves. - Large River Channel Searching: The 5" Easy Shiner is an exceptional search bait. Its size matches the hatch of most adult roach and skimmers in UK rivers. Use it on a 5g–10g jig head to cover water efficiently and find active pods of pike and zander. - Deep-Water Reservoir Edges: When predators are holding on the edge of drop-offs (3m+), the 5" model's sink rate and vibration make it a lethal tool. It provides enough weight to stay in the zone while the tail action remains active throughout the descent. - Standard Jig-Head Rigs: This is the gold standard pairing for a standard 3/0 or 4/0 jig head. Whether you are fishing vertically or casting and retrieving, the 5" Easy Shiner is remarkably easy to rig and performs consistently in almost all conditions. The "Stop-and-Twitch" Retrieve: When fishing the 5" Easy Shiner, try a retrieve that mimics a dying fish. Wind the lure at a steady pace for 3–4 meters, then stop turning the handle for a full second. The bait will glide and sink slowly, and the tail will give one final, lingering kick before settling. Many of the most aggressive strikes come exactly on that pause, as predators that have been following the bait suddenly decide to strike before their meal has a chance to sink out of sight. What is the ideal hook size for the 5" Easy Shiner? We recommend using a #3/0 or #4/0 wide-gape offset hook for weedless rigging, or a #3/0 or #4/0 heavy-wire jig head. This size ensures the hook point is positioned correctly for a high hook-up ratio while leaving enough of the tail section free to maintain its signature swimming vibration. Is the 5" too big for perch? Not for specimen perch. While a 3" model is a more versatile bait for all-size perch, the 5" Easy Shiner is a targeted lure for big fish (2lb+). It is the perfect size to avoid the smaller nuisance fish and put your bait in front of a giant that is looking for a substantial, high-protein meal. Does the squid scent wash off? No. Keitech compounds the natural squid flavoring directly into the raw plastic paste during the manufacturing process. This means the scent continuously leaches out of the pores of the rubber as it swims, ensuring the lure maintains its strong, predatory draw throughout the entire duration of your session, even after multiple catches.
