The Westin Platypus is a big pike lure designed by Scandinavian lure maker Allan Christiansen, built as a slow rising, low floating crankbait. Considerable attention went into achieving the correct buoyancy, so that when the retrieve stops the lure hangs in the water and rises slowly — a useful trick for tempting large, wary predators.
