Description

The HTO Clouser Minnows Selection offers a range of these classic and highly versatile baitfish-imitating flies, renowned for their effectiveness in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Designed by Bob Clouser in 1987, the Clouser Minnow features weighted dumbbell eyes positioned on top of the hook shank, causing the fly to ride hook-point up. This innovative construction allows it to sink quickly and minimises snagging when fished around rocky ground, through weed beds, or over other bottom structures. The sparse dressing, typically incorporating bucktail and flash, provides a natural swimming action and mimics a variety of small prey fish such as minnows, shad, and sculpins. This selection is an excellent choice for anglers targeting predatory species, including pollack and bass, and is also highly effective for striped bass, bluefish, redfish, snook, and many other saltwater game fish. Key characteristics include: - Designed to ride hook-point up to reduce snags - Weighted dumbbell eyes for a fast sink rate and jigging action - Constructed with bucktail and flash to imitate baitfish - Effective for a wide range of saltwater predatory species - Versatile for various retrieves, including stripping and jigging
