Description
PikePro 49 Strand Trace Wire is a supple trace wire designed for deadbait fishing, where pressured pike have learned to tell the difference between a tethered and an untethered dead fish. The 49-strand construction is built for maximum suppleness, making it easier for a pike to inhale a deadbait and offering less resistance once the bait is in the fish's mouth. Its higher density than standard seven-strand wire means it tends to sink better and lies flat on the lake bed. The same suppleness makes it highly kink-resistant, so each trace lasts much longer, which offsets the higher price of this wire. Owing to its flexibility, this wire is not recommended for livebaiting, but for deadbaits it is without equal and takes bait presentation to the next level. It is best used with PikePro crimps (Q28), and it can also be knotted using a clinch knot.
