Angling Pursuits Camo 40 Carp Runner Reel

Description

The Angling Pursuits Camo 40 Carp Runner Reel is a free-spool reel aimed at anglers who want dependable, ready-to-fish performance without spending a lot. It arrives pre-spooled with 12lb monofilament, so you can tie on a rig and start fishing straight from the box. A 3-ball-bearing drive, anti-reverse system and a spare spool round out the package, suiting commercial carp, specimen bream and river barbel. - Model: Camo 40 - Bearings: 3 stainless steel ball bearings - Gear Ratio: 5.0:1 - Included Line: Pre-spooled with 12 lb monofilament - Line Capacity (mm/m): 0.20mm / 240m | 0.25mm / 200m | 0.30mm / 140m - Line Capacity (lb/yds): 8lb / 200yds | 10lb / 160yds | 12lb / 120yds - Drag System: Multi-disc front drag with rear free-spool clutch - Handle: One-touch folding handle - Body Construction: High-strength graphite composite - Spare Spool: Lightweight graphite spool included The rear runner clutch can be adjusted to let fish take line under minimal tension on the bite, then disengages automatically with a single turn of the handle. The 3-ball-bearing construction is paired with a computer-balanced rotor for steady, wobble-free retrieval under load, while the power line roller and oversized bail arm are designed to cut line twist and give reliable, snag-free pickup after casting. The one-touch folding handle collapses flat for compact storage in a rod holdall or quiver, and the full camouflage finish blends into bankside surroundings for marginal carp stalking and stealthy setups. Where it suits use: - Commercial carp lakes: pairs well with 9ft to 11ft feeder or short carp rods, targeting commercial venue carp up to double figures. - River ledgering: suited to river barbel and chub in high flow, where the free-spool gives peace of mind when a fish takes off. - Method and bomb fishing: a good match for static feeder setups, letting fish pick up the hookbait without pulling your rod off the rests. - Beginner and youth setups: a straightforward option for anglers entering the sport, or as a fully pre-rigged spare reel for short day sessions. Because the reel comes loaded with versatile 12lb monofilament, the empty spare spool can be used to wind on a lighter 8lb line or a braided setup, giving you an instant swap if you move from heavy carp tactics to lighter specimen feeder fishing on the same day. Is the included 12lb line strong enough for commercial carp? Yes. The pre-spooled 12lb monofilament suits general carp and specimen fishing, with good knot strength and abrasion resistance for double-figure carp and hard-fighting river species. How does the carp runner or free-spool mechanism work? Flipping the rear lever disengages the main drive, letting a fish take line freely with minimal drag resistance when it picks up your bait. Turning the reel handle automatically disengages the free-spool, locking you into the main front drag to play the fish. Will this 4000-sized reel fit standard carp and feeder rods? Yes. The 4000 compact body size fits all standard reel seats on carp, feeder and specimen rods, and balances particularly well on 9ft to 11ft stalking, feeder or retractable carp rods. Can the handle be folded down without unscrewing it completely? Yes. The one-touch push-button folding handle collapses flat against the reel body in seconds for fast transport and storage.
