SpiderWire Stealth Smooth 8 Braid Hi Viz Yellow

Description

SpiderWire Stealth Smooth 8 Carrier Braid in Hi-Viz Yellow is built around an 8-carrier PE fibre construction that produces a round, smooth and supple braid. It suits anglers who want casting performance and strength without compromise, whether that means finesse lure fishing or targeting hard-fighting predators. The Hi-Viz Yellow colour aids bite detection and line tracking, while the tight weave delivers the sensitivity, longevity and casting distance that demanding anglers look for. Specifications: - Construction: 8-Carrier PE fiber, tightly woven. - Diameter: 30% thinner than traditional braided lines. - Finish: Microcrystalline polymer micro-coating. - Color: Hi-Viz Yellow (high visibility for bite detection and line tracking). - Key Attributes: Ultra-smooth, quiet casting, high knot strength, and superior shock resistance. Key Features: - 8-Carrier Tight Weave: The multi-fiber construction creates a round, tight braid profile. This minimizes friction through the rod guides, resulting in silent, ultra-smooth casts that significantly increase your distance compared to 4-carrier braids. - Microcrystalline Polymer Coating: This proprietary coating acts as a protective shield, keeping the braid thin and reducing the chance of the line "digging in" on the spool. It also significantly lowers the likelihood of wind knots, a common frustration when casting light lures. - Hi-Viz Yellow Advantage: In low-light conditions or when working lures, being able to track your line is vital. The vibrant Hi-Viz Yellow makes it easy to see where your lure is and to detect subtle line bites, ensuring you don't miss those tentative strikes. - Unmatched Durability: Despite its thin diameter, this line is tested to the limit. The tight weave helps eliminate premature fraying, while the improved shock resistance ensures the line can absorb the sudden, aggressive runs of large predatory fish. - Effortless Knotting: One of the most common issues with thin braids is knot security. The Stealth Smooth is designed to clinch effortlessly, ensuring that your connection to leader materials or terminal tackle is always secure and reliable. Because this braid is so supple and thin, it is well suited to stealth setups. Pairing it with a high-quality fluorocarbon leader, joined with an FG knot or Alberto knot for a streamlined connection, gets the most from it. When lure fishing, keeping the line slightly taut lets the lack of stretch in the 8-carrier weave transmit the instant a lure hits structure or a fish touches the bait, allowing for faster reaction times. Where to Use: - Lure and Predator Fishing: The primary environment for this line. Its high visibility and smooth casting make it ideal for stalking Pike, Perch, and Bass. - Long-Range Casting: The smooth profile is perfect for beachcasting or distance lure fishing, where gaining those extra few yards can make the difference between a blank and a personal best. - Clear-Water and Low-Light Sessions: The Hi-Viz yellow color is a massive asset when dawn/dusk fishing or when the water is slightly coloured, as it allows you to maintain perfect control of your line placement. Frequently Asked Questions Why should I choose 8-carrier over 4-carrier braid? 8-carrier braids are significantly rounder and smoother than 4-carrier versions. This smoothness translates to quieter, longer casts and less friction against your rod guides, which ultimately extends the life of your gear. Is the Hi-Viz Yellow likely to spook fish? In most predatory fishing scenarios, fish are focused on the movement and vibration of the lure. By using a fluorocarbon leader of 1–2 meters, you keep the visible braid far away from the fish, meaning you get the benefit of line tracking without compromising your stealth. Does the micro-coating wear off? Like all coated braids, the coating will gradually reduce over time with heavy use. However, the tight 8-carrier weave beneath the coating is inherently durable and smooth, meaning the line retains its excellent casting and strength characteristics long after the initial coating has settled.
