Garbolino Proxima Jetspin Rod

Description

The Garbolino Proxima Jetspin UL 4′ is the most compact model in the Proxima range, measuring just 1.20m. This miniature powerhouse is a niche specialist tool, designed for the most extreme, overgrown environments where even a 5ft rod is too long. Despite its short stature, it is built with the same High Resistance (HR) Carbon as its larger counterparts, ensuring it doesn't sacrifice performance for portability. With a 2-equal-section construction and a reverse fitting, this rod maintains a surprisingly sleek profile and a fast tip action. It is the ultimate pocket rod for anglers who find themselves crawling through bushes or fishing in tiny urban culverts and pipes where a standard rod would be impossible to manoeuvre. - Model: Proxima Jetspin UL - Length: 4'0" (1.20 m) - Casting Weight: 0.5 – 5 g - Sections: 2 Equal Sections - Transport Length: Approx. 65 cm - Weight: Approx. 68 g - Blank Material: HR Carbon Construction - Action: Ultra-Light (UL) / Fast Tip Action - Handle: Hybrid EVA and Cork - Reel Seat: Upward-Screwing with Carbon Insert - Maximum Accessibility: The 4ft length allows you to make flick casts in spaces no larger than a telephone booth. It is designed for precision over power, making it the king of accuracy in confined quarters. - Featherweight HR Carbon: Weighing in at under 70g, this rod is practically weightless in the hand. The HR Carbon ensures that the blank remains crisp and responsive, preventing the floppy feel often associated with very short, cheap rods. - Premium Ergonomics: It retains the high-end EVA and cork hybrid handle found on the longer models, providing a comfortable, secure grip. The upward-screwing tubular reel seat with its coloured carbon insert ensures your reel is locked in tight and that you feel every vibration. - Ultra-Compact Transport: At a transport length of approximately 65cm, this rod fits inside most standard suitcases or can be strapped to the side of a small daypack, making it the perfect just in case rod for hikers and travellers. - Safety Features: Includes a fixed lure hook keeper, vital for moving through dense snaggy areas where a loose lure would quickly end your session. - Micro Stream Fishing: Targeting wild trout in tiny, headwater brooks where you are often casting from a kneeling or sitting position. - Urban Exploration: Ideal for fishing small urban features like drains, small ponds, or narrow canals from crowded bridges or walkways. - Kayak and Float Tube Fishing: The short length makes it incredibly easy to handle fish close to the boat or tube without high-sticking the rod. - Junior Anglers: An excellent, manageable high-quality rod for children learning the art of lure fishing without the clumsiness of a full-sized blank. Gerry's Tip: Because this rod is so short, you have a very limited swing for your cast. To get the best distance, a wrist-flick technique works better than a full arm movement. Paired with a 1000-size Safari reel and 0.04mm braid, a 2g spoon can travel surprisingly far with just a tiny snap of the wrist.
