Shimano STC BB Spinning Rod

Description

The Shimano STC BB Spinning Rod is a compact travel rod from the Shimano Travel Concept (STC) range, built for anglers who need extra power for heavier lures or for fighting large, strong fish without carrying a full-length rod. The "BB" (Blue Box) series sits at the entry level of that travel range. At 8 feet (approximately 2.40m), the rod gives good leverage and casting distance, which matters when throwing the heavier lures it is rated for. Its 21-56g casting weight puts it in the heavy-action bracket for a spinning rod, so it handles big crankbaits, heavy jigs, substantial soft plastics and medium-to-large spoons comfortably. The moderate-fast action puts power in the blank for controlling large fish and setting the hook, while the forgiving tip absorbs the shock of strong runs. It suits freshwater work for large pike as well as in-shore saltwater fishing for powerful species such as larger sea bass and other vigorous game fish taken on bigger lures. The 4-piece construction breaks down small enough to store in a suitcase or backpack.
