Shimano TLD B Stand-Up Big Game Rod

Description

The Shimano TLD B Stand-Up Big Game Rod is a mid-priced, high-quality big game rod built for extreme saltwater conditions. This 30lb version is designed for anglers who want dependable, no-nonsense performance, making it a common choice for charter owners and serious private boaters. The 5'5" (1.65m) length is optimised for stand-up fishing, giving the leverage needed to keep pressure on a deep-diving fish without the fatigue of a longer rod. It suits both trolling for tuna and bottom fishing for heavy predators, offering a balance of quality, affordability, and strength. The blank is built to handle demanding situations. It uses Full Carbon reinforced with Biofibre, a combination that boosts resistance to sudden shocks and heavy loads while keeping the rod lightweight and durable. Despite its strength, the 30lb model has a forgiving action that provides good feedback, helping to absorb the violent lunges of pelagic fish and protecting your line and gear during intense fights. The components are chosen for big game fishing. Shimano roller guides manage the friction and heat from long runs by sharks or tuna, reducing line wear and keeping line flow smooth under strain. The lightweight aluminum butt is durable and fits rod holders and fighting belts, paired with a heavy-duty aluminum reel seat that holds a multiplier reel firmly in place. The butt is covered in high-density EVA for a secure, comfortable grip even when wet or slimy.
