Shimano Twin Power XD FB Reel

Description

The Shimano Twin Power XD C5000 XG is the toughest, most durable reel in the Magnumlite family, engineered for the harshest inshore saltwater environments. It blends a lightweight feel with overbuilt internal architecture, allowing you to work heavy lures with precision while possessing the muscle to winch powerful fish away from jagged structures. Whether battling coastal currents or chasing record-breaking freshwater predators, the Twin Power XD delivers a balance of sensitivity and raw power. The Twin Power XD FB is elevated by Shimano's exclusive trio of "Infinity" technologies, previously reserved for the flagship Stella: - **InfinityDrive and InfinityXross:** These systems optimize gear tooth contact and reduce sliding resistance, providing a significant boost in winding power and ensuring the reel remains smooth even under the extreme load of a fast-running predator. - **InfinityLoop:** By implementing ultra-slow spool oscillation, the line is laid in precise, parallel wraps. This drastically reduces friction during the cast, allowing you to reach feeding fish at incredible distances. - **HAGANE Gear and Micro Module II:** Precision-forged for extreme durability, these gears produce a silent, fluid rotation that maintains its out-of-the-box feel even after years of saltwater abuse. The C5000 XG profile offers speed and authority: - **XG (Extra High Gear) Performance:** With a lightning-fast 6.2:1 gear ratio, this model retrieves 101cm of line per crank. This is essential for keeping up with fish swimming toward the boat or for burning lures through the surface film. - **MGL Rotor:** The ultra-lightweight Magnumlite rotor provides a low-inertia start-up. This instant response allows for better lure manipulation and the ability to feel the most subtle ticks on your line. - **Anti-Twist Fin:** A specialized elastic fin manages line tension as it enters the spool, virtually eliminating wind knots and slack-line loops—a game-changer when using thin braids in windy coastal conditions. Rugged saltwater protection is provided by: - **X-Protect:** Utilizing a sophisticated labyrinth structure and non-contact seals, X-Protect provides elite-level water resistance without compromising the reel's buttery-smooth rotation. - **Duracross Drag:** Offers exceptional, accurate control with ten times the durability of standard drag washers. It ensures smooth, stutter-free performance during the most intense battles with powerful predators. - **Hagane Body:** The high-rigidity aluminum body eliminates flexing, transforming every turn of the handle into pure, unadulterated winding power.
