Description

The Drennan Acolyte Pro Carp Standard Pole Package is a purpose-built pole for carp and commercial fisheries, developed in conjunction with five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne. Built on the same high-spec mandrel as the Acolyte Pro but using different carbons and resins, it offers increased section strength and durability, though no pole is claimed to be indestructible. It is lighter, better balanced, and more responsive than the original Acolyte Carp, particularly at the longer 14.5m and 16m lengths, and reacts quickly to bites even with a pole-mounted pot and short line between tip and float. The main sections from the butts up to the No5 are built on new mandrels, while the No4 and No3 sections remain the same size as the original and are interchangeable. All male and female joints are reinforced to reduce wear. The new kits use a No1 and No2 configuration with a larger 4.7mm internal diameter tip section, ready to fish without cutting back, with elastics up to and including Drennan Red Bungee. Each kit includes factory-fitted Side Pull Slots and Roller Cone accessories, plus a selection of Skid Bungs, EVA nose cones, a pole pot, colour-coded PTFE bushes, and a Visi Case. The white Side Pull Slots are made from a super-slick PTFE material, with an elongated shape designed to soften the angle of pull. The optional Roller Cone system, moulded to align with the slot, features a machined roller wheel on a stainless steel spindle for smooth, trouble-free operation. The pole is available in three lengths: 13.0m, 14.5m, and 16.0m, with a spares package including six Carp Top 2s, an extra-rigid Cupping Top 2, and a pair of reversible mini extensions fitting the No5 section back to the 16m butt. Each top kit is factory fitted with the Side Pull system. A set of four colour-coded Side Pull Beads is supplied with each Side Pull Kit; made from toughened thermoplastic rubber, they are colour-coded to match Drennan Carp Bungee hollow elastic grades, with bore diameters increasing to suit each grade.
