Drennan Specialist Barbel Hooks

Description

The Drennan Specialist Barbel Hooks are engineered for anglers targeting hard-fighting species, originally designed for barbel fishing but also highly effective for carp, tench, and chub. This hook pattern has gained a reputation among big fish anglers for its strength and reliability. A key feature of these hooks is the slightly in-turned eye, which is smoothly finished to prevent hooklength abrasion during a fight. This design makes it particularly suitable for tying with a Knotless Knot, creating an aggressive line-aligner effect for improved hook-ups. Each hook features a non-reflective, dull charcoal-grey Teflon coating. This coating helps the hook blend into its surroundings, significantly reducing sun glare in clear or shallow water conditions that might otherwise spook wary fish. The Specialist Barbel hook incorporates a heavy gauge wire for robust performance and includes a short to medium length shank with a circular curve. Its elongated, chemically sharpened needle point ensures instant penetration upon the take, making it difficult for fish to eject once hooked. The hook also features a whisker barb. This hook is well-suited for bolt rig style presentations, and its versatile design allows for both hair-rigged baits and conventionally hooked presentations. - Teflon coated - Whisker barb - Elongated point - Short to medium shank - Slightly in-turned eye - Heavy gauge wire - Circular curve - Available in sizes 4 to 16 - Ten hooks per packet
