Gardner Drop Out Chod Safety Clip
Description
The Gardner Drop Out Chod Safety Clip by Gardner Tackle offers a reliable solution for lead discharge when fishing chod rigs and helicopter style presentations. These pre-formed C-shaped plastic clips are engineered to deform at a specific force, providing a more consistent alternative to traditional rotten bottom lead attachments, particularly in situations involving thick weed or snags where lead ejection is beneficial. Each packet contains a full sprig of 24 clips, evenly split into two distinct weight ratings to suit varying angling requirements. - Light clip release pressure: approximately 3lb - Heavy clip release pressure: approximately 6lb The lighter gauge clip is recommended for short to medium-range fishing, while the heavier gauge clip is ideal for longer-range applications, allowing anglers to match the clip strength to their casting distance and lead weight. For secure deployment, anglers should splice a large ring, such as from a Flexi Ring Swivel or a Covert Q-Ring, onto the end of their leader. After constructing the chod or helicopter rig, the lead is hooked onto the Chod Safety Clip. It is crucial to incorporate a silicone sleeve, a Covert Buffer Bead, or a tail rubber to slide down and sheath the ring and the Chod Clip before casting. This step helps to prevent the lead from prematurely ejecting during the cast or upon impact with the water.
