The OMC Magic Twig Lead Clip from One More Cast is a rig component designed to deliver a sharp, immediate "prick" to a fish the moment it picks up your hook, rather than letting it feel the weight of the lead. The device works by holding tension until a set pressure is reached, at which point the spring mechanism recoils, creating a quick strike that encourages fish to bolt early in the take. This results in more bites, faster bite detection, and improved hookholds compared to a conventional rig. It is suitable for use with any lead size, from lighter options up to the stated trigger weight or beyond, and works with running rigs as well as fixed setups. The trigger pressure is measured from a stationary position at the hook end, with the second anchor point being either your lead or the lead plus line tension. On soft lake beds where a cast weight sinks in, the additional resistance is accounted for in the trigger rating. Three versions are available, each with a different trigger pressure to suit varying fish sizes and casting scenarios: - Light – Triggered at 4.5oz: Good for targeting carp and fish from single figures upwards. A quick build-up of tension triggers the recoil, giving a fast prick even with lighter leads or running rigs. - Medium – Triggered at 6.5oz: Good for use with double-figure fish and bigger, and brilliant when using larger leads to drop from bait boats and boats. - Heavy – Triggered at 8.5oz: One More Cast's Ali Hamidi's most-used option, favoured for its stronger recoil force that delivers great hookholds and stops fish using the lead's weight to bounce the hook out. Good for double-figure fish and bigger, and also brilliant with larger leads, river feeders, or drops from bait boats and boats.
