The Ridge Monkey Hunter 750 Echo Edition Bait Boat builds on the brand's best-selling bait delivery system by adding a smart built-in echo sounder. This lets you see underwater features and map depth changes, which is a real advantage when you are trying to locate the right spot. It suits a wide range of venues, from large reservoirs down to canals and small ponds, and allows for stealthy, pinpoint placement of rigs and bait. This opens up areas of a swim that would normally be out of reach with rod and line. The boat carries up to a kilo of bait in its fully top-loading hopper, plus your chosen rig. The top-loading design means you do not have to open bay doors and feed the rig in from below, which is a clear improvement over some other designs. At 2.5kg including both batteries, it is light enough to add to your kit without becoming a burden. Power comes from two whisper-quiet brushless motors with weed guards, driven by twin lithium polymer batteries. In testing, these delivered a massive four hours of runtime at full speed, which should cover most sessions. An easily visible and accurate power meter means you will not get caught out. If you need to top up on the bank during longer sessions, each battery takes just over 2.5 hours to recharge via its USB-C port. Ridge Monkey's own Vault power packs are well suited to this, and spare batteries are available if you want to charge some in advance. The supplied remote is fully sealed against the elements with an IP55 water and dust resistance rating, offering protection against everything except a complete dunking. The handset has an easy-to-use thumbstick, an ergonomic design, and a rubberised grip that feels natural in the hand. It has its own rechargeable internal battery with a power meter, and recharges through its own USB-C port. The remote has been tested to hold a signal comfortably at ranges of up to 200m.
