Description

The Shimano CI4+ XTB Longcast Baitrunner Reel is available in two sizes, replacing the older XT-A series. The Big version uses a 14000 spool, while the Medium uses a 5500 spool. Both reels share a substantial feature set, including Hagane Gearing, X-SHIP, Hi Speed Drag, X Protect, and a CI4+ body and rotor, along with the Baitrunner system for free spool operation. This reel is widely used for specimen carp fishing across Europe, with the Baitrunner system proving particularly useful when ledgering on the bottom, as it provides the free spool facilities needed to let a fish run without resistance. Size advice for choosing between the two models: - SIZE MEDIUM (5500): all-round size, perfect for fishing up to 120 meters distance (casting), to fish from boat, to fish on smaller venues, to fish with lighter rods (2,75/3,00lb) - SIZE BIG (14000): size for distance fishing / distance casting, using with heavier rods (3,25, INT), perfect for when big line capacity is necessary
