Description

The Ridgemonkey Escape FQ1 Bivvy is a modular one-person shelter from Ridge Monkey, designed to be faster, easier and lighter than previous all-in-one bivvies in the Escape range. It offers the same comfort, quality and all-weather protection in a more compact and portable package, with the option to strip it back for quick overnighters or fully load it for longer sessions. The modular build allows you to adapt the bivvy to your needs, with quick-lock elbow joints and a central boss mechanism for rapid deployment and pack-down in seconds. The waterproof 150D HydroX outer skin protects against the elements, while the tape-sealed blackout inner lining regulates internal temperature, provides privacy and blocks out sunlight for better sleep. Adaptive front, side and rear vents can be fully open, partially open, or swapped for protective insect mesh panels. The removable front panel converts the bivvy from an open brolly-style structure to a fully enclosed shelter, with adjustable front vents, insect mesh panels and a clear PVC front window. A separate full insect mesh door panel can also be secured to the front for a more open covering. Heavy-duty zips with water-repelling baffles are adjustable from both inside and outside to suit conditions. The removable skullcap can stay on for easy pack-down and adds a twin-skin layer to optimise temperature regulation, boosting thermal efficiency in cold weather and encouraging airflow in warmer conditions. It also reduces internal condensation and increases overhead protection via the protruding peak and rain gutter, which guides water away from the front entrance. Four magnetic rod straps on the front of the peak match four straps on the bivvy itself, providing convenient and safe rod storage locations. Removable quick-release storm poles push fit to the front peak for additional structural stability and to maximise door height. Multiple built-in adjustment points and a removable tension strap let you refine the structure, while a heavy-duty PVC groundsheet insulates from cold ground and the foldback entrance area offers a sheltered spot for muddy footwear. Reinforced pegging points feature a colour-coded locator, and a built-in compass helps orientate the bivvy during setup.
