The 2020 SCW edition brought a refresh in style and technology, introducing Slow Cross Wrap, LC Long Cast, and Magsealed. For 2026, the 26 Tournament Basia takes this further with a redesigned 45mm spool that increases in diameter by 10% and features a minimal 2° taper, unlocking greater line capacity and a superfast crank rate of 115cm. This larger spool has driven the development of Daiwa's biggest-ever rotor for a big pit reel, built with the innovative Zaion AIRDRIVE Rotor for strength, balance, and smoothness. The larger spool and rotor are matched by an AIRDRIVE Bail made from thinner hollow pipe, which reduces weight while maintaining rigidity and toughness. Slow Cross Wrap optimises the angle of line lay on the spool to improve loading and release, with reduced line resistance during the cast delivering increased energy and distance. Whether casting at distance or rowing out baits, this reel is supplied with two spools to cover all needs: a 'C' spool holding 300m of 0.35mm line and an 'LD' spool holding 530m of 0.35mm.
